🌿 The Future of Cannabis: Big Changes and Big Opportunities 🌊

Let's talk about the world of cannabis. It's a world that's ready to grow, but it's waiting on some big changes from the folks in charge. This week, we're diving into the laws and rules that could open up a whole new world for cannabis.

The Current Situation: Waiting for Change

Right now, the cannabis industry is like a plant waiting for water. Big investors and companies are holding back. They're waiting for the green light from Washington. But when that light turns green, get ready for a flood.

🌊 Anticipating the Tidal Waves of Investment

In the near horizon, two significant events loom that could fundamentally transform the cannabis industry – the potential rescheduling of cannabis and the passing of the SAFER Banking Bill. These monumental shifts promise to usher in an era of unprecedented growth and investment in the cannabis sector.

The Rescheduling Wave:

With the anticipated federal rescheduling of cannabis, the industry stands on the brink of a financial revolution. The removal of cannabis from the list of most-restricted substances would break down the barriers that have long stifled investment and innovation in the industry. This rescheduling wave is expected to attract a diverse range of investors, eager to explore the untapped potential of the cannabis market, bringing with them a surge of capital and fresh perspectives.

The SAFER Banking Wave:

The potential passing of the SAFER Banking Bill is another beacon of hope for the cannabis industry. This legislation would grant cannabis businesses much-needed access to essential banking services, providing a stable financial foundation for growth and expansion. The SAFER Banking Wave promises to infuse the industry with capital, enabling businesses to flourish, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to the economy.

Together, these waves symbolize the dawn of a new era for the cannabis industry, marked by increased investment, financial security, and boundless opportunities for growth and innovation. As we stand on the cusp of these transformative changes, the future of cannabis has never looked brighter.

The Big Vote: The SAFER Banking Bill

This Wednesday, the Senate is voting on the SAFER Banking Bill. This could be the start of big things for the cannabis industry. The bill, known as the Secure and Fair Enforcement Banking Act of 2021 or the SAFE Banking Act of 2021, generally prohibits a federal banking regulator from penalizing a depository institution for providing banking services to a legitimate cannabis-related business.

In a significant move towards financial freedom for the cannabis industry, the SAFER Banking Act has recently passed a key Senate hearing. The Senate Banking Committee, comprising 23 members, voted 14-9 in favor of advancing the bill to the Senate floor, albeit with technical amendments. Despite this advancement, the journey to becoming law is still long and fraught with challenges. The bill now faces the looming threat of a federal government shutdown on October 1, amid a political standoff. This potential shutdown could significantly delay the progress of the SAFER Banking Act, burning valuable time that could otherwise be used to pass this crucial legislation.

In the News:

Over 800 banks are ready to work with cannabis businesses. This is a record high and a big step forward. The importance of banks working with cannabis companies cannot be overstated. It allows for more thorough compliance checks, ultimately saving money and ensuring the stability and growth of the industry.

State regulators are asking Congress for new rules for hemp and hemp-derived products, including delta-8 THC. This could change the game for a lot of products, including Hemp-Derived Delta 9 products and beverages.

Our Take: Ready for the Ride πŸ„

We're standing at the edge of something big. The cannabis industry is ready to take off, and we're here for the ride. We believe in the power of change and the power of cannabis. And we're ready to see what the future holds.
