🍃 Best Path to Federal Legalization?

This week I asked my communities: If Hemp or Cannabis (Marijuana) was the best path to reach federal legalization. Over half of the voters said both. This is interesting since there’s an ongoing heated battle amongst the “two” industries. In particular a large portion of regulated cannabis companies believe a dollar spent on Hemp is a dollar out of their pockets, which largely is untrue. The consumer bases are quite different. The low-dose consumer and the people shopping for these products wouldn’t be caught dead in a dispensary, let alone trying to purchase or use the high potency products that are proliferated in dispos.

There were so many great comments on this post - “I think we need both. Hemp might be a quicker path to mass cpg around edibles/beverages, but if we want quality and if we want the other categories to proliferate, we need to sustain the state markets. My thesis is that the two markets will ultimately converge or operate in parallel in two separate lanes.

It would be so absurd if “federal legalization” means we can’t work with the best quality plants.”

Which is very true.

What do you think? Is it better to keep both markets separate, merge, or someother combination?
