Hello hello y’all!

My Linkedin feed has been blowing up this week with people claiming cannabis is not a CPG product or that people have tried the CPG business model in cannabis and failed.

I asked my followers what they thought and the vast majority felt CPG was the correct way to classify cannabis.

Love them or hate them, but Curaleaf is the big giant in the space, and they are getting ready to come play in the hemp derived beverage space as well and they operate as a CPG business. While I believe that cannabis is a unique product, I don’t think we should be so full of hubris to ignore the lessons of the great CPG businesses out there. Especially as it pertains to Cannabis beverages.

The government has not made it easy and have largely hindered operators abilities to grow and scale like traditional CPG, but at the end of the day, cannabis is product, packaged, and consumed.
